Joe Mallahan Comes Out Swinging in Seattle Mayoral Contest

Cue the fire emojis!

The Washington Observer reported that Seattle Mayor Candidate Joe Mallahan has put up a site picking apart (some of) the unseemly parts of Bruce Harrell’s legacy.

The site leads with this banger:

🔥🔥🔥🔥

The politeness police are not gonna be happy

Harrell’s disqualifying record is, of course, all well-documented but far too under-discussed. That is for two reasons:

First, because we in Seattle suffer from a well-funded political culture built on branding people as “divisive” if they dare to point out the gross moral or competence failures of any Chamber-backed candidates.

Second, because our media - while willing to cover specific scandals, rarely reminds readers of embarrassing information about establishment-blessed politicians - even when that information would provide key context for the content of their stories.

Props to Joe Mallahan for defying this “protect the powerful over the weak” norm!

Mallahan has been a volunteer/board member for the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center for a decade. His site smartly narrows the focus to three of Harrell’s big failures, and chooses topics that are unsurprising, given Mallahan’s volunteer work. The three big headlines are:

  1. Mayor Bruce Harrell Repeatedly Accused of Shielding Abusers

  2. Monisha Harrell, Former Senior Deputy Mayor, Details Toxic “Boys’ Club” in Bruce Harrell’s Office.

  3. Seattle Police Stopped Investigating Adult Sexual Assaults, Internal Memo Shows

The subheads are no nicer, and very well documented.

Spread the word!

The site is something every Seattle voter should see before they vote. Here are my Bluesky and twitter (🤮) posts. Please amplify these if you are on either network.

Wowza! The @washingtonobserver.bsky.social‬ reports that the @joemallahan.bsky.social has put up a site highlighting Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell's well-documented and damning record when it comes to women. It's called: bad-bruce.com and it opens with a banger

Correction from a previous article:

In Seattle D2 Candidates Sport Some Spotty Voting Records I mis-typed a statement in reference to centrist candidate Adonis Ducksworth, and, in addition to making the sentence unintelligible, it may have obscured my intent.

It said “He also show up for the 2023 Crisis Care Levy” and should have said “He also failed to show up for the 2023 Crisis Care Levy.”

Sorry!
