Seattle's MAGA station - KOMO - refuses to air Jimmy Kimmel

KOMO  - Propaganda Pretending to be News

Political insiders have long known that KOMO in Seattle and KATU in Portland are owned by the Sinclair Broadcasting Network, the less successful MAGA baby brother to the Fox News-Murdoch empire.

But regular citizens had a front row seat to KOMO’ right-wing ties when KOMO refused to air the return of Jimmy Kimmel, who was taken off TV for insulting Trump’s reaction to a question about the death of Charlie Kirk. 

KOMO wants to suppress the speech of Jimmy Kimmel - a comedian so mainstream that his humor goes down like a glass of warm milk. Here is the joke that attracted the anger of Trump’s censorship machine:

Kimmel, who had already offered sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Kirk family for their terrible loss, merely committed the great sin of daring to make fun of our dear charlatan. Shortly after, the FCC chairman made it very clear that it is the policy of the Trump administration to suppress speech they do not like.

It is now widely known that Disney responded by pulling Kimmel off the air, and that people started canceling Disney subscriptions en masse. Presumably the talent that makes Disney billions also balked. So Disney backed down, put Kimmel back on the air, and now Trump is howling with grief and threats and it’s difficult to know what will happen next.

Except with KOMO. We know what happens with them.

KOMO seized the opportunity to take a Jimmy Kimmel off the air for criticizing Trump. 

KOMO has long been a MAGA mouthpiece, pushing a narrative that gets voters to favor Republicans or other anti-tax, anti-housing, anti-accountability-for-police Democratic local politicians like Sara Nelson and Bruce Harrell. 

Still, normal people often forget that KOMO, despite being an ABC “affiliate,” is so ideologically driven. They don’t realize they are watching news where reporters’ scripts are often dictated by Trump-aligned big businesses, which have been shown to significantly shift coverage toward a rightward slant. Sinclair;s signature move is to flood local airways with misleading crime and homelessness scare tactics, like that infamous “documentary” Seattle is Dying.

Please tell your friends—people need to know KOMO is part of a corporation (Sinclair) with a MAGA ideological agenda, trying to bend the world in favor of fear and the fascistic views of the Trump administration.

Get them to stop watching KOMO, KATU in Portland, and or whatever other outlet in your area has been compromised by Sinclair News.
